General Postgraduate ProgramThe General Postgraduate Program (GPP) of Johannes Gutenberg-University in Mainz is part of the university`s comprehensive concept for supporting young researchers.The aim of the GPP is to promote research and science related skills, and to develop central key qualifications. To this end, the GPP offers lectures and workshops which also facilitate the university-wide networking of doctoral students. The GPP's program is composed of six modules which are offered in an annual rotation. Each module comprises about 12 hours and can consist of different courses. Normally, the courses take place in forms of workshops allowing an intensive and effective work environment. The course offering is open to all doctoral candidates in Mainz, including the doctoral candidates of the Graduate School of Excellence, the DFG Research Training Group, the international Max Planck Research Schools and the international PhD Program "Performance and Media Studies".
